Valve has announced that it will be accepting applications from potential hosts for the next majors until June 21, 2022. She also mentioned that she plans to announce where the two major CS: GO events will be held in 2023 as early as June 28. Valve has previously published additional information for organizers, including detailed rules for the event, RMR tournament requirements and other guidelines.
In an email sent to tournament organizers, Valve notes that the company hosting the major will also be responsible for regional qualifiers such as RMR tournaments and open qualifiers. They must be completed at least two weeks before the main event.
Thus, Valve plans to hold two majors in 2023 – in May and November, similar to this year's tournament schedule. The rulebook published in February will be used for these events, but will be amended in the following months.
In addition, Valve will give preference to regions where successful events of this level have already been held to minimize issues related to travel restrictions. While the company lists June 28 as the date when the 2023 majors will be decided, it will likely be announced a little later.
