ESL Challenger Anaheim tournament has been moved to an online format

Tournament organizer ESL has announced that the ESL Challenger Anaheim event, which was planned to be held in LAN-format in North America, will be moved to Europe and held online due to an unfavorable epidemiological situation. For non-European teams, ESL will provide hotel accommodation so that all participants can easily travel to the bootcamp location from where they will be competing. This decision was made after the DreamHack Anaheim festival was canceled in December.

All regional qualifying tournaments preceding ESL Challenger Anaheim have already taken place. Of the qualified teams, only one (France's DBL PONEY) is in Europe. The others (Extra Salt from North America, 9z from South America and ORDER from Australia will have to travel to another continent to compete in February. Also, four more teams that will receive a direct invitation should be announced soon.

Despite the change of the tournament venue and the abandonment of the LAN-format, all other conditions remain the same. Teams will compete for a total prize pool of $100,000 as well as points in the Pro Tour rankings.
