BLAST has officially confirmed that it will be the organizer of the first major of 2023. The tournament will be held in Paris from March 8-21. The qualifying matches preceding the RMR tournaments are scheduled for February and March, while the regional competitions themselves will take place from April 3 to 9.
Thus, the major will be held in France for the first time. In addition, BLAST will be the first time ever to be honored to host an event of this scale after it has repeatedly proven its professionalism by organizing other major events. Interestingly, this spring, French President Emmanuel Macron, in one of his campaign speeches, promised support for the country's cybersports scene and emphasized that France should become a venue for major competitive events such as the CS:GO Major.
In a statement published on the official page of the tournament organizer, BLAST CEO Robbie Dweck promised to hold «the best major ever» and not to cheat the community's expectations. He mentioned that it has always been a dream of BLAST to host an event that represents the highest embodiment of the cybersports and competitive scene: «Next year will mark the 10th anniversary of the first major, and we are confident that we will take this opportunity to host the greatest CS:GO major to date, to the delight of the game's fans. We will be working closely with Valve to ensure we exceed community expectations and deliver an incredible event».
