Ksenia «vilga» Kliuenkova, currently playing for the Galaxy Racer women's team, was recently interviewed by Afisha Daily. She talked about the challenges girls face in cyber sports and her experience with professional performances. In particular, Xenia mentioned that negativity and prejudice towards female players is indeed quite common. And insulting comments are left primarily by those players who have achieved a little, while from strong cybersports players you can more often expect constructive advice and support.
Vilga believes that there are still few girls in cybersport not because they lack abilities or are not interested in the game, but because negativity discourages newcomers. At the professional level, there are far fewer such problems – . Most of the negativity comes from amateur players.
Vilga has been involved in cyber sports since 2008. She has played in several women's CS:GO squads both at the Russian and international level – among them Team Secret and WRTP. She has numerous regional tournament successes to her credit, as well as eight major world championship wins.
