First of all, let us remind you where the startup settings are specified. They are read every time the game is started. They can be used to affect technical parameters that are not available in the game itself, or to set default settings so that you don't have to change them manually every time. To specify startup parameters, proceed as follows:
·Open the Library Steam.
·
Right-click on the game and select «Properties».
· Find the item «Startup Options» (it is located on the «General tab») on the screen that appears
.
In it you will need to enter the selected startup parameters. Check them carefully to make sure there are no typos.
Themost important parameters
· -tickrate 128: Sets the value of tickrate, i.e. the speed of data exchange with the server. On Valve' s official servers, 64 is the standard, while 128 is used on FACEIT or ESEA. Other values are much rarer, on individual community servers. Tickrate can affect certain elements of gameplay, such as grenade trajectory calculation and hit logging.
· -novidl: This command removes the short video that is shown at game startup. It can hardly be said that they load the computer a lot, but for those who play often, this way to save time will come in handy.
· -nojoy: Disables gamepad support in the game. This option is relevant for weak computers because it frees up some memory. Also, sometimes on FACEIT servers the player may be kicked out if this option is not disabled.
· -console: Activates the console, allowing the player to enter any fine-tuning commands during the game.
· +execautorexec.cfg: Reads settings from a file with the given name. This command can be used if you have multiple CS:GO configurations that you want to switch between for some reason. Note that the command starts with a + character, not a - like the previous ones. If you want, you can save all of the above CS:GO startup parameters in the config file, and then you will only need to enter this line in the corresponding field.
Settings that are better not to touch
In an attempt to increase FPS in CS:GO, players often turn to many other settings. However, on modern computers they almost do not give tangible changes, while their unsuccessful combination can cause crashes and hangs.
An example of this is – command fpx_max. By setting «0», it removes the FPS limit, but this change doesn't carry much meaning – the default FPS limit is 300, which is enough for most players. Trying to manually change the number of threads, process priorities, and other system parameters usually doesn't yield useful results either.
So spending time on more subtle configuration changes only makes sense if you know in detail what you are doing. Another interesting option is – to try and copy pro player configs that can be found on the net.
