StarLadder has announced the names of three of the four teams that will headline the Hellcase Cup 8 tournament. European team OG, representatives of Kazakhstan Virtus.Pro and Russian TeamSpirit will take part in the tournament. They will go straight to the playoffs, bypassing the qualifying round.
The prize fund of the tournament will be 10,000 dollars, which will be supplemented by funds raised through crowdfunding on the tournament website. Last time the total prize money reached $60,000.
The group stage is scheduled to be held from May 18 to July 14. Twelve teams will qualify for it by invitation, while another four will be selected as a result of qualifying games. There will be four competitors in each group, with one – qualifier. The group tournament leaders will advance to the playoffs, where they will meet four invited teams in a battle for the championship title. The final games are scheduled for the end of June.
Other participants of the tournament include – Russian teams Hard Legion, Gambit Youngsters and pro100, as well as teams from Belarus, Sweden, Germany and France. The name of the fourth team to be invited to the playoffs along with Virtus.Pro, TeamSpirit and OG will be announced later.
