Niko will play for OG at DreamHack Masters Spring

European team OG on the eve of the start of closed qualification of DreamHack Masters Spring announced that Danish cybersport player Nikolaj «niko» Kristiansen will be in its lineup. The 22-year-old will replace Nathan «NBK» Schmitt, who was sent to the reserves in late February as a result of an internal conflict. NBK has been criticized a lot recently due to the team's poor start to the season, failing to qualify for the BLAST Premier Spring Seasons, and failing to qualify for the IEM Katowice playoffs. Schmitt later released an official statement, in which he mentioned that in the end «he failed to reach an agreement with the team that would have allowed to achieve consistently high results».

Now his place will be taken by niko, who previously played for Heroic, but since the end of February remained in the reserve after the change of the active roster. It is possible that the cyber athlete will move to OG on a permanent basis in the future. OG announced that the player will continue to play for them in the ESL Pro League group tournament as well, but it is still unclear if he will be able to participate in the upcoming match. OG is scheduled to play against Heroic on Thursday, and it may be that the rules won't allow him to play against a team he has an actual contract with. If that happens, the OG will have to re-engage NBK, who is listed as a backup player.
