Many players are constantly wondering which skins are increasing in price in CS:GO, what is condoning this, and why some expensive models are not worth investing in, while cheap and potentially useless army-quality pistols and rifles should be taken here and now.
Valve's pricing is made up of several elements:
The rarity of the skin in the game;
the rarity and initial cost of the case;
correlation of supply and demand;
ethnic interest.
Regarding the last point, things are very interesting. To begin with, the shooter began to be downloaded en masse by players from China and Taiwan, who piously honor traditions and love national symbols. Do not be surprised by the large number of skins with a dragon in our selection — it's all brothers from Asia tried. And by good old tradition, all the places in the top are distributed in alphabetical order.
AWP African mesh
Hardly anyone expected to see this skin from the Lake collection here, but it's enough to look at the statistics to see the real state of affairs. While the souvenir version manages to hold steady at $40, the regular version (straight from the factory) has been slowly but surely rising in price since June 2018. Not a record pace, given the starting price of $2, but positive developments are present.
AWP Legend of the Dragon
At the mention of the Cobblestone collection, there's not even a doubt as to which skins may increase in price in CS:GO in the near future. First, Dragon Legend is already very expensive ($1500 for a battle-hardened rifle). Secondly, items from these cases are unrealistic to come across today, as the boxes themselves are not for sale, nor are the keys to them.
And just look at how souvenir items with minimal wear and tear have risen in price. Just a couple years ago it cost around $11,000 and today it's all of $20000. What isn't the perfect long term investment.
AK-47 Kartel
An interesting in every sense machine gun of their Chrome Case, which has shown almost double in value in the last couple years, if we talk about the skin with minimal wear. The statistic is explained quite simply: Chroma-cases drop rarely, and in the next patches the chance of dropping them will be reduced even more. That said, the rifle has a cool design and a wide fan base, and the $8 price tag for the non-metered version scares few people. And there are very few differences between MW and FN to overpay almost twice.
AK-47 Red Line
Discussing what skins will become more expensive in CS:GO, you hardly imagined this masterpiece of minimalism. But let's face the statistics. For a couple of years of active bidding, the machine has gained almost 100% in value. This is more typical for jubilee souvenirs from Majors, but not for the secret. Things are similar with StatTrak, only the price tag today is not $50, but $200 respectively.
The post-field skin also shows good dynamics, the cost of which exceeds even a little worn.
Desert Eagle Dragon Prepper
And here is what we were talking about — symbolism. Just look at how dashingly this Deagle is rising in price because it's finally being sampled by players from China and nearby Asian countries. As of 2018, the average price tag on a Dragon Leader from the factory has exactly doubled (StatTrak is also affected)
If you have one like this — don't sell it early. Cases «Wildflame» are relatively rare today, plus they also contain the Fuel Injector. Save it for a while, and then the Digil will go up in price a bit more.
Glock 18 Dragon Tattoo
This black beauty has a similar situation to the Desert Eagle. Same dragon symbolism and high demand in the Chinese market. Just kidding — quadrupling in value over the past two years! And this applies to both Direct from the factory and Minimally worn quality.
But there is one more nuance — belonging to the first generation gun case. And its cost today is estimated at $28 to $30. That's why no one really sells such a treasure. They fall out extremely rarely, the keys are expensive, and the chance of knocking out AK-47 Surface Hardening and AWP Lightning Strike is not high enough to spend a lot of money to try. Here and grow in price pistols — nobody replenishes the collection.
M4A4Howl
There is nothing to say — living fossil incarnate. There will be no new ones, and the old ones are slowly being taken by collectors who have enough money for such pleasure. Look at the growth dynamics and see for yourself. Not so long ago, a crazy gamer (or maybe an investor) from China shelled out a cosmic $100 ,000 for the skin.
And all because the skin's float — 0.003, with the case adorned with four holographic iBUYPOWER Katowice stickers that came out in 2014. Now imagine what kind of bomb he got his hands on. Think about it, maybe you're doing something wrong and investing in the wrong place?
M4A4 Dragon King
Once again the ubiquitous Chinese. But this time around, Chroma cases have also stepped in and are gradually increasing in value due to their imminent demise. Experienced gamers have already calculated that Chromium crates will soon stop falling out in random, and therefore stock up while there is an opportunity.
Judging by the dynamics of prices for the skin, for a couple of years it has become worth 2 times more expensive. What's interesting is that the StatTrak version didn't really add much to the price. Anyway, keep both cases and skin to the last — it won't get any cheaper anymore.
African Mesh Butterfly Knife
Knives have a knack for rising in value too. But what that has to do with — is an open question. Look at the graph of this butterfly Straight from the factory first without StatTrak and then with it. The cost of both has risen more than 2.5 times in the last year and a half, namely from $150 to $420 and from $250 to $640, respectively. That's an impressive figure. Especially for those who managed to yank the knife from the case and then keep it in their inventory.
Now the price has stabilized, but for how long? The item has been in the game for 6 years, which means it is considered a local relic. Should I keep it or sell it? It's up to you.
Black Gloss Folding Knife
And let's finish with this compact knife, which loosely lives up to its name visually. But it looks cool, definitely in the piggy bank. It gained for a couple of years not so much, only 30-50% (depends on the degree of wear), but it is one of the most stable skins in terms of growth rates.
What is remarkable is that the knife with StatTrak counter on the contrary loses in price and is almost equal to the regular version. The difference is often no more than $20-30, which at over $200 per unit is not that much of an overpayment.
