Late last week, Sweden's Dignitas announced that Patrik «f0rest» Freiberg has extended his contract with the team through 2022. The Swedish cyber athlete, now 33, joined Dignitas in January 2020 after eight years with NIP. Together with him, several other Swedish players who had previously been successful in NIP started playing for Dignitas.
In 2020-2021, the team did not have much success on the international stage, mainly winning a few regional tournaments such as the Nordic Masters Spring 2021. Despite this, f0rest managed to maintain a rating of 1.09 during his time on the team – this is the highest rating among Dignitas active roster members. Patrick is only slightly ahead of sniper Hakon «hallzerk» Fjaerli with a 1.07 rating.
The current Dignitas roster has remained unchanged since March 2021, after Jonas «Lekr0» Olofsson replaced Haris «H4RR3» Hadzik. However, a few later, the team management changed the head coach, and since November, Farooq «pita» Pita has held the position. Earlier this week, another player – Adam «friberg» Freiberg also confirmed a contract extension with the team. Dignitas played its debut match this year at the Elisa Invitational Winter main qualifier on Jan. 17.
