Brazilian cyber athlete Luiz «peacemaker» Tadeu has issued a statement regarding the accusations made by ESIC against him for using a variation «of the coaching bug»that allowed him to move freely around the map. The information about such suspicions appeared a few days before PGL Major Antwerp, because of which the Brazilian was banned from participating in the major, as well as in other events controlled by ESIC. The same punishment was imposed on two other coaches – Rafael «zakk» Fernandez and Sergey «hally» Shavaev.
The peacemaker has now announced that ESIC has dropped the charges against him as it accepted the evidence of innocence he provided. He also thanked the help of other players who helped him free himself from the charges. These are Patrick «es3tag» Hansen, Neil «NeiL_M» Murphy and Rokas «EspiranTo» Milasauskas, who were involved in that match when the bug manifested itself. Peacemaker noted that an official announcement on the matter from ESIC can also be expected soon.
Previously, ESIC's approach to investigating the use of «coaching bug» has been repeatedly criticized by players. In particular, Rafael «zakk» Fernandez spoke negatively about penalties being imposed such a long time after the investigation was completed. Peacemaker himself also called the new bans for using the bug in the past «a questionable decision».
