The winner of the Fragadelphia 17 tournament, which ended in North America on September 11, was the EG.PA team. The lineup, led by Ben «ben1337» Smith, started the event with a last chance match in qualifying and then successfully made it through the group stage and playoffs to win the $40,000 top prize. Josh «PwnAlone» Pigou of EG.PA was particularly impressive. On the eleven maps played in the last two stages of the competition, he posted an average rating of 1.27.
EG.PA did not concede a single map on its way to the grand finals, consistently defeating Vendetta, Detonate, Iron Blood, and TeamOne. In the finals the team faced BIG Academy, and here it was still necessary to play three cards to determine the winner. First EG.PA won Nuke with a small margin, then gave Vertigo almost without a fight (6 – 16 in favor of BIG Academy). The outcome of the match was decided on Mirage, which EG.PA won with a score of 16 – 9.
EG.PA includes players who used to play under the Party Astronauts tag. In mid-2022, this roaster was acquired by Evil Geniuses and has been competing as EG.PA since that time. They are now 64th in the world rankings.
