Brazil's MIBR continues to fail to build a loose lineup. This time it was Marcelo «chelo» Cespedes who had tested positive for a coronavirus, which means he won't be able to travel with the team to BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2022. This was announced by the cybersports organization on Thursday.
MIBR Academy player Breno «brnz4n» Poletto will temporarily take chelo's place in the MIBR lineup. He had previously appeared on the main roster in 2021, replacing Ricardo «boltz» Prassa, who was also diagnosed with a coronavirus at the time, at several tournaments.
In the second half of 2021, MIBR repeatedly ran into problems due to having to adjust the roster before appearing at international events. Not only brnz4n but also MIBR coach Renato «nak» Nakano played in place of the main roster players who were absent for one reason or another.
MIBR will have a tough task ahead of them in the group stage of BLAST Premier Spring. Even if the team would have played with the main squad, it would not have been easy to get out of the group, because besides them in Group I were Natus Vincere, OG and Astralis. In their opening match at the tournament, MIBR will have to play against a CIS team.
