Soham «valens» Choudhary, a former Cloud9 coach who now serves as head of data-science at Evil Geniuses, was found to be using «the» coaching bug a few years ago. Information about this was published by Dexetro.com. Three such cases are known to date. Two of them are similar to violations that other coaches have committed: valens used a bug to watch player movements during matches on the Inferno and Train maps. In both cases, the recordings show him moving the mouse, tracking the movements of the participants from the observer's position.
However, the most remarkable was the third case, which revealed a version of the bug not mentioned before. During a match against Liquid in the EPICENTER tournament, Soham was able to gain access to a freely moving observer camera while playing the Mirage card for one round. In his statement on the matter, valens emphasizes that he has encountered this bug several times without understanding its nature. He claims that he did not seek to trigger it specifically and did not share any information from it with the team.
Michal Slowinski, a sports referee and tournament administrator who played a key role in the investigation of the «coaching bug», mentions that his version with the free movement of the camera was also present in the materials provided by ESIC. According to the latter's official website, the investigation related to «coaching bug», is not finished till now.
