Tournament organizer BLAST has announced that the closing event of the 2021 BLAST Premier World Final will be a private event. The $1,000,000 tournament is scheduled to take place in mid-December. Due to the new worsening of the epidemic situation, it was decided to hold it in a studio located in Copenhagen. The previous BLAST – event, the recently concluded BLAST Premier Fall Final, was held at the Royal Arena to a crowd of thousands.
So while the professional cybersports scene has begun to return to its usual format in recent months, there are now no major events available to spectators until at least early 2022. How the conditions for organizing tournaments will change in the near future. It is possible that for the near future PGL Major in Stockholm and BLAST Premier Fall Final in Copenhagen will remain the only major events that fans of cybersports were able to attend. Another important event, IEM Winter, will also take place in Stockholm without spectators.
BLAST Premier World Final, the final event of the year, is expected to bring together the best competitors from different countries. It includes – seven top-10 teams, with the grand final winner taking home a $500,000 prize.
