Brazilian cyber athlete Bruno «BIT» Fukuda Lima, now 31, has decided to end his career as a player and take up coaching. For the past two years, he has played for Argentina's 9z and helped them become a prominent presence on the South American scene.
Prior to that, BIT had built a very productive career with several Brazilian teams, including TeamOne, Nao Tem Como and g3x. Notably, he managed to make a name for himself back in Counter-Strike 1.6. In 2007, he joined MIBR and made notable contributions to its victories at events such as DreamHack Winter that year, GameGune in 2008, and two Extreme Masters American Championships.
BIT himself commented on the end of his playing career as follows: «I was happy to lead great Brazilian teams, win national tournaments and get as far as possible in international events, but it's not enough anymore. I want to return to the world's biggest events and win new titles, I want to have the same opportunities I had at the beginning of my career as a player – but now as a coach».
According to a Globo Esporte publication that appeared in January, MIBR is considering BIT as a possible candidate for the coaching position after Alessandro «Apoka» Marcucci leaves the post. Thus, it is possible that BIT will return to the organization with which his journey on the professional scene began over a decade ago.
